Welp, the time has come. I've been considering this for a while now, and I'm finally going to do it. I'm shutting down Goths of Colour.
There's a lot of reasons for this; lack of time, that sort of thing, but the biggest thing is I've honestly grown out of goth. I look at the modern fashions in goth and, I admit, I think most goths look pretty ridiculous (what's with wearing yarn and goggles on your head? Seriously?). I don't have the time to go out clubbing - and when I do it's mostly cyber-bleep which I can't stand - and I certainly don't have the money for the clothes. I'm not a drug addict or a hypocrite, either, so I don't have or fit into any of the local cliques. I'm more into wanting to walk my talk these days than sit around and philosophise online about things I'll never actually do.
Thus, I feel it's time to step off in another direction. Yes I still love black, and velvet, and take my eyeliner at your peril. But for the rest, I'm retired. Time to move on.
I won't be erasing the site; the articles are still here, and my email as well. I've received too much email about this site to ever completely erase it. There's invariably some young teen who finds this place and writes to me, letting me know that, yes, this is still doing some good. But I won't be adding any more articles or fellow GoCs to the site.
I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed in the past, who welcomed me into the Goth fold and, directly or indirectly, made sure I had a place in it regardless of popular opinion.
To the rest of you lot, I ask you to
Keep on Keepin On LuCy
